Hello again.

Well hello, It’s been a while. Sorry about that.

I have taken the opportunity to re-acquaint myself with this site and hope you will too! I’ve added new paintings and streamlined the gallery view. You can now also follow me at @laura.barringer.art on Instagram!

In other news, today is also the 35th day since I’ve been home for my full time job doing retail merchandising for a national home store during this COVID-19 crisis. I have re-taken up print making with some old easy-cut lino blocks I had on hand and my fiance Matt and I have been navigating the work from home world together in our tiny living space. Some days I get the kitchen table and some days he does.

This weekend I would have been participating in the ValeArts spring art show in Oakton, VA. Today we would have been setting up flats and hanging paintings ready for a weekend of art, art lovers, family and friends. It is so odd to be productive at home, starting new paintings, looking to my business and re-connecting with friends while also having no show date by which to point my artistic compass. I am enjoying the freedom to work on what I want and when I want but also missing the structure of set days and schedules. Whatever day it is, I hope you are staying sane, safe and healthy wherever you are.
